scsi performance on your system. The kernel patches are required to
test reads of more than 4096 bytes at a time, and are only for the
purposes of this benchmark, and should never be added to the
distribution kernel. These patches merely add a new ioctl to be used
for benchmarking and should not affect the normal usage of the kernel.
You will also need to have a ramdisk configured into your kernel to
use this, although it does not need to be very big - 64Kb should be
sufficient.
I am enclosing the output that I get when I run this with my
Toshiba drive with an Adapotec 1542B controller. I cleaned it up a
bit so that it would fit in an 80 column display.
