<p><a name="a0000001131" id="a0000001131"></a> </p><p>The <tt class="tt">axes</tt> modifier may be used to specify which axes data should be plotted against when plots have multiple parallel axes – for example, if a plot has an <tt class="tt">x</tt>-axis along its lower edge and an <tt class="tt">x2</tt>-axis along its upper edge. The following example would plot data using the <tt class="tt">x2</tt>-axis as the ordinate axis and the <tt class="tt">y</tt>-axis as the abscissa axis: </p><pre>

</pre><p>It is also possible to use the <tt class="tt">axes</tt> modifier to specify that a vertical ordinate axis and a horizontal abscissa axis should be used; the following example would plot data using the <tt class="tt">y</tt>-axis as the ordinate axis and the <tt class="tt">x</tt>-axis as the abscissa axis: </p><pre>
