Open TURNS examples README file
===============================

This directory contains many examples that may help you learning how to use Open TURNS either in C++ or in Python.
You should find here:
 - a 'configure' script
 - a 'Makefile.in' makefile
 - various C++ files, named t_XXX.cxx where XXX stands for the purpose of the test
 - various similar Python files, named t_XXX.py

If you want to build and test them, you have to:

1. change to your own private directory. This many require that you first create a new one and then change to it.

2. call the 'configure' script from your private directory like this:

  $ <example_prefix>/configure

  where <example_prefix> is the path to the 'configure' script. This script will build the Makefile need by the next stage.

3. compile the tests in the usual way:

  $ make

Here you are !
The scripts are built and you can test them:

  $ ./t_XXX

  where XXX is the name of the test you want to run.

But you may need to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH so the Open TURNS library (libOT.so) can be found:

  $ LD_LIBRARY_PATH=<openturns_prefix>/lib/openturns ./t_XXX

Enjoy.
The Open TURNS core team.
