<p class="noindent">These windows give access to the various scripting languages supported
by GPS, and allow you to type commands such as editing a file or
compiling without using the menu items or the mouse.
<p>An OS shell window is now also available in GPS, providing a simple access
to the underlying OS shell as defined by the <code>SHELL</code> or <code>COMSPEC</code>
environment variables.
<p>To show the shell consoles, select the menu <code>Tools->Consoles</code>.
<p>See <a href="Scripting-GPS.html#Scripting-GPS">Scripting GPS</a> for more information on using
scripting languages within GPS.
