<span class="emphasis"><em>Mobile Broadband</em></span> means any high speed internet connection
that is provided by an external device, such as a <acronym class="acronym">3G</acronym>
<acronym class="acronym">USB</acronym> stick or mobile phone with built-in
<acronym class="acronym">HSPA</acronym>, <acronym class="acronym">UMTS</acronym>, or <acronym class="acronym">GPRS</acronym>
data connection. Some laptops have been offered recently with mobile broadband
devices already installed.
</p><p>
Most Mobile Broadband devices should be recognized automatically when they
are connected to the computer. If not, <span>Kubuntu</span> will display a prompt that the
device requires configuration.

<span class="mousebutton">Click</span> the <span class="guiicon">NetworkManager</span> in the

Select the <span xmlns:doc="http://nwalsh.com/xsl/documentation/1.0" class="guiitem"><span class="guilabel">Mobile Broadband</span></span> tab.

<span class="mousebutton">Click</span> the <span xmlns:doc="http://nwalsh.com/xsl/documentation/1.0" class="guiitem"><span class="guibutton">Add...</span></span> button.

The <span xmlns:doc="http://nwalsh.com/xsl/documentation/1.0" class="guiitem"><span class="guilabel">New Mobile Broadband Connection</span></span> wizard will be
displayed. Enter the device and carrier information.
