There are several ways to manage applications in Kubuntu. A convenient way to
add or remove applications is with a package manager. The
following package managers are described in this document:

It is possible to increase the number of programs that can be installed with
package managers. The default installation does not include all the programs
that can be used with Kubuntu. System functionality can be enhanced by
including more applications and newer software. This document describes how to
add software repositories.

The software that comprises Kubuntu is being continuously improved. With an
Internet connection and Kubuntu software updating, the latest improvements and
security fixes can easily be applied to a system. This document explains how to
perform updates.
