<h2 class="chapter">5 Symmetric cryptography</h2>

<p>The cipher functions are used for symmetrical cryptography,
i.e. cryptography using a shared key.  The programming model follows
an open/process/close paradigm and is in that similar to other
building blocks provided by Libgcrypt.
