<p>Set membership functions determine whether a value is a member of a set.
They take a set of numeric arguments or a set of string arguments, and
produce Boolean results.
</p>
<p>String comparisons are performed according to the rules given in
<a href="Relational-Operators.html#Relational-Operators">Relational Operators</a>.

values. Otherwise, results in false. If <var>value</var> is

<dd><p>Results in true if <var>value</var> is in any of the intervals bounded by
<var>low</var> and <var>high</var> inclusive. Otherwise, results in false.
Each <var>low</var> must be less than or equal to its corresponding
<var>high</var> value. <var>low</var> and <var>high</var> must be given in pairs.
If <var>value</var> is system-missing, returns system-missing.
System-missing values in <var>set</var> do not cause <code>RANGE</code> to return
system-missing.
