<p>The command-line option &lsquo;<samp>-#</samp>&rsquo; (see <a href="_002d_0023.html#g_t_002d_0023">-#</a>) turns off comments about
module and line numbers globally, for the entire code.  However, in some
cases one wants to turn that off in just a small block of code.  One
important example arises in <small>FORTRAN</small>.  Consider

<p>This example will tangle to something like

<p>Unfortunately, the information comments have created invalid code that
will not compile.  
</p>
<p>The &lsquo;<samp>@q</samp>&rsquo; command solves this problem by turning off or on the
information comments locally.  &lsquo;<samp>@q0</samp>&rsquo; turns them off; &lsquo;<samp>@q1</samp>&rsquo;
turns them on.  Thus, if one rewrites the above example as
